Jesus’ Word to You

Scripture Notes Header

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.  (Mark 13:31)

An old saying goes, “all good things must come to an end,” and in most cases this is true.

Companies close and relationships fall apart.  Nations crumble and loved ones die.  Hopes fail and dreams fade and according to Jesus, even heaven and earth will one day cease to exist as we know them.

But there is at least one good thing that will never, ever come an end: Jesus’ word to you.

So what is His word to you if you’re in Christ?

You are loved, embraced, accepted and forgiven, and nothing can ever take that away.

Jesus is the anchor of your soul

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf… (Hebrews 6:19-20a)

Of all the storms in this life, perhaps none is more troubling than uncertainty.  Bad news and hard times can at least be faced head-on and dealt with, but how maddening it is when you just don’t know.

Not only that, but what more painful uncertainty could there be than not knowing where you stand with God?

That’s why Jesus is such a great Savior!  Not only does He make righteous all who come to Him by faith, but He himself is the personal guarantee of your acceptance by the Father.

No matter what your past reveals, how bad your present circumstances are or how uncertain your future may appear, if you’re in Christ, you can find strength as you meditate on this truth: Jesus is the anchor of your soul.

God will never abandon you

Scripture Notes on Psalm 94

For the Lord will not forsake His people; He will not abandon His heritage.  (Psalm 94:14)

Have you sinned and felt the sting of consequences and the weight of guilt?  Be at peace, God will never abandon you.

Have you failed to live up to expectations, yours or God’s or someone else’s?  Be at peace, God will never abandon you.

Have people you trusted let you down, and people you relied on left you hanging?  Be at peace, God will never abandon you.

It may feel sometimes as if God is not there.  It may seem sometimes that heaven is closed to you and your prayers return unanswered.  Even so, be at peace.

It is only a season.

It is only for a time.

It will not last forever.

You see, if you’re in Christ, you belong to Jesus as His treasured possession, no matter what!  That means you can have peace in this simple truth.

God will never abandon you.
