God reveals your Savior through your storms

God’s Hope for Your Heart from Matthew 8

GOD REVEALS YOUR SAVIOR THROUGH YOUR STORMS

And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him?”  (Matthew 8:27)

Jesus’ disciples had enjoyed plenty of time with Him before, watching Him do incredible things for many people.  This time, though, when He calmed a raging storm before their eyes, they learned to see their Savior in a whole new way.

You see, watching Jesus work in other people’s lives will never bring you to the deeper places of knowing Him.  But, when Jesus works in your life, you will get a glimpse of Him that can only be found when He enters into your personal storm.

That kind of understanding is more than just new information.  It is God’s gift to you of a deeper knowledge of Christ that will transform your relationship with Him!

This means that when God allows storms to come into your life, it doesn’t mean that He’s angry with you!  It means that whatever other purpose the trial may have, the deepest purpose is that you would have an encounter with Jesus that will change your life.

So, when the storms of life come your way, may you see them as opportunities to meet Jesus in a more personal way as you remember the hope of this truth: God reveals your Savior through your storms.
