“He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” — Psalm 1:3
The right fruit in the wrong season is not prosperity; it’s a waste. The most bountiful crop will quickly die if the season is not timed to support it.
When the psalmist writes that the one who delights in, meditates on, and (by implication) follows the Lord’s instruction prospers in whatever they do, he’s not saying they always get whatever they want.
He’s saying that in every season of their life, there is a blessing to be found and a bounty to be had.
Maybe you’re seeing someone else’s “fruit” and wishing you had it too. Yet maybe the reason you don’t isn’t because you’re not doing things right.
Maybe you’re just in a different season.
There’s nothing wrong with having dreams, setting goals, and even finding examples to follow to get you where you want to go.
As you do, though, keep this in mind.
Different seasons bring different things, but when you follow the ways of the Lord, EVERY season has good fruit for you.
