Undaunted

My word for this year is UNDAUNTED.

To me this represents being steadfast in the face of adversity, pressing forward even when it’s hard, and staying focused on the summit even when all I can see is the slope.

To be undaunted is to accept the reality of challenges without losing our resolve.

It’s the ability to say, “Yes, this moment is hard but I choose to keep going because the prize of where I’m headed is worth the pain of where I am.”

Undaunted is not a feeling.

It’s a choice to remember the people we love who are counting on us, the lives we have the capacity to affect, and the better world we have the opportunity to build.

It is a choice to persevere in spite of our feelings and difficulties because we believe those things are good and worth working and fighting for.

And when we do the work and stay in the fight, amazing things can happen.

So I choose to be undaunted this year.

Will you?
