Do you ever find yourself waiting on something and it seems like there’s no end in sight?
“And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You…” -Psalm 39:7
How often our lives are filled with the dreary, droning wait of unmet hopes and desires. How common, frustratingly common, to find ourselves watching the clock or the calendar, or even being denied that ability, having to wait for a “someday, somehow” thing that really has no guarantee of fulfillment at all.
Those are the seasons when our hope must be anchored in Christ, must find its deepest fulfillment in the Lord.
In seasons of waiting, we are granted an opportunity like none other to press in and know Christ more, and the reality is that if we don’t, it’s only a matter of time before we may find what little hope we have fading away.
No, we wait on the Lord and hope in Him, trusting in His goodness and resting in His love. You know that thing you’re waiting for but that hasn’t arrived? Jesus knows about it. He knows that you want it, why you want it, and how hard your life is without it.
Do you believe He doesn’t know?
Do you believe He doesn’t care?
Do you believe He has no ability to bring it to pass for you?
If you don’t have it, it’s because either God is freeing you to find you don’t need it, or fixing things up so that when you receive it, both you and it will be ready for the best blessing possible.
Hope in Him, and let Him show His love for you.
