What if “spankings” were the best thing that ever happened to you?

“Blessed is the man whom You discipline, O Lord, and whom You teach our of Your law, to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.” -Psalm 94:12-13

Spankings were never fun for me as a kid, but as an adult I’ve learned to be grateful for them.  The pain had a purpose which was ultimately for my good.

God disciplines His children, too, and though it may hurt, there is a holy joy that comes from knowing it’s for our good, because our Father loves us.

Discipline lines us up with God’s plan, and in so doing, frees us from spinning our wheels in worry for all the ways we’re trying to “make it work.”

Discipline is God saying, “I love you.  Do it this way, because My way leads to life.“
