Never Cursed

Ever have one of those moments when your prayer time turns out weird?

A few nights ago when I was in prayer, a verse reference came to me that I didn’t recognize.  Out of nowhere, what came to my mind was “Numbers 22:13”.  Then, shortly after that, it was revised to “Numbers 22:11-13”.

Weird.

Of course I looked it up, and not surprisingly, I was blessed!  Here’s what it said…

‘Behold, a people has come out of Egypt, and it covers the face of the earth. Now come, curse them for me. Perhaps I shall be able to fight against them and drive them out.'” God said to Balaam, “You shall not go with them. You shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.” So Balaam rose in the morning and said to the princes of Balak, “Go to your own land, for the LORD has refused to let me go with you.”
(Numbers 22:11-13)

Do you see what happened?  The enemies of God’s people tried to bring a curse against them, but failed.  They even tried to get a “spiritual person” to intervene and bring the curse, but failed.

If you are in Christ, you cannot be cursed, because you are blessed!  Jesus has “redeemed [you] from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for [you]–for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree’– ” (Galatians 3:13)   You and I can rest easy, unafraid of any curse, for because of the cross, anyone who tries to bring a curse against us will have the same results as Balaam and his company did, it will fail.
