God is not in the business of just generic, one-size-fits-all blessings.
“It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” -Genesis 2:18 (NLT)
What strikes me here is that God’s provision for Adam isn’t generic, it’s personal. God knows his child personally and loves and blesses him in the same way.
I love this! It reminds me of some of the things Jesus says in the Gospels:
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” -Matthew 5:31-33 (NLT)
“What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coinst? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. “-Luke 12:6-7 (NLT)
The Apostle Paul joins in, too, writing in Philippians 4:19, “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
No matter what you’re facing today, remember this. God doesn’t just know and promise what “people” need, but what “you” need, specifically. If you’re in need of help, pray and ask and believe that God is preparing something special, “just right for you”.
