Greatness is a prize worth seeking, but the WAY we seek it matters.
“Do you see a person skilled in his work? He will stand in the presence of kings. He will not stand in the presence of the unknown.” (Proverbs 22:29)
“Don’t boast about yourself before the king, and don’t stand in the place of the great; for it is better for him to say to you, ‘Come up here!’ Than to demote you in plain view of a noble.” (Proverbs 25:6)
The key here is not to negate the desire for greatness. Rather, it is to remember to let the work stand on its own and let your results speak for themselves.
To boast is to INFLATE.
To share is to RELATE.
Relate your results humbly to the people who need to hear of them, and true greatness will come in its own time and way.
