God’s Hope for Your Heart from Acts 23
GOD CAN USE ANYONE FOR HIS PURPOSE
And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him away from among them by force and bring him into the barracks. (Acts 23:10)
Paul was in a sticky situation. Standing alone in a courtroom, surrounded by enemies on every side, his very life was in danger. Yet, in the midst of it all God rescued Paul, but not in a way one might expect.
When Paul needed help, God didn’t send an angel; He sent a tribune. He didn’t send a Christian brother; He sent a Roman soldier.
God loves to use unlikely people.
Maybe you feel you couldn’t be used by God because of your past. Maybe you feel God could never use that person in your life because of their present.
But God still uses unlikely people today.
Whatever your feelings are about who God chooses to work through, and whether or not you feel He could really use you, may you find hope and perspective in this truth: God can use anyone for His purpose.
