Contemplations

Here they go again... In Luke 20:1-8, the religious leaders of Jesus' day come to Him with questions, but not good honest, heartfelt questions. They come with questions designed to trick Jesus, to trap Him and take Him down.

Reading "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy" by Eric Metaxas tunes my imagination to what might happen in my own lifetime.

It's one thing to make a scene and drive out a few money men for an afternoon. It's quite another to be able to set up shop in their spot from then on and not have these business people come back to reclaim their livelihood...

Have you ever felt like your spiritual life was under water? For some, this is their sad reality.  Drowning in the depths of despair and fear, pain and confusion, there is no clarity or strength in their belief.  There is no substance to their faith, no hope in their heart...

Jesus doesn't cry much, but when He does, what does it mean? "And when He drew near and saw [Jerusalem], He wept over it, saying, 'Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace!  But now they are hidden from your eyes.'" -Luke 19:41-42
