Jesus was a “friend of sinners” because there’s a difference between accepting a person & approving a lifestyle. Don’t let zeal for avoiding the second thing keep you from embracing the first.
Who you really ARE is revealed by what you regularly DO.
Conviction addresses your BEHAVIOR. Condemnation attacks your IDENTITY.
Conviction brings sadness about what you’ve DONE. Condemnation brings shame about who you ARE.
The more deeply I believe God’s love FOR me, the more readily I obey His commands TO me.
David believed in God, because God first believed in him.
To truly make a difference, a sermon must be more weighty than the problems the people brought in with them.
Repentance is not drumming up your strength to do the right thing;
It’s discovering the emptiness of sin and the delight of Christ Himself.
Service TO God does not automatically mean
relationship WITH Him.

The test of a true Christian is not the morality of their actions, but the focus of their heart. However, the test of a heart’s focus is always the action it produces.

Underneath all our traditions
& sound systems
if it doesn’t SERVE people for the glory of GOD,
it means nothing.
Disappointment is often God’s way of telling us
we should be doing something else.
One of the beauties of prayer is that
whether giving or receiving,
you know you’re not alone.
If read only with the mind,
the Bible becomes a book of duty.
If read also with the heart,
it can be a book of desire.
The greatest benefit of college
isn’t the degree you get, but rather,
the degree to which you change in the process.
Hope without an anchor
is just wishful thinking.
