Scripture Notes on Psalm 105
They asked, and He brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river. For He remembered his holy promise, and Abraham, His servant. (Psalm 105:40-42)
God is not in the habit of making promises He doesn’t keep. When He says He will do something, He does it, period.
He may not always act like we expect, of course. It’s doubtful the children of Israel ever expected bread from heaven, but God kept His promise to provide for them.
Just like He will keep His promise to provide for you.
Sometimes we look at our wants and call them needs, but God knows what we really need. Sometimes we feel He’s not providing, but in reality He’s producing something deeper in our souls.
The truth is that as we see in Matthew 6:25-34 and all sorts of other places throughout Scripture, God has promised to provide for His people. So, since God always keeps His commitments, let your heart be at ease because of this truth.
God will provide because of His promise.
